With advances in technology and the ability to predict catastrophic events beforehand, authorities are now adopting proactive measures to tackle natural calamities more efficiently. Vulnerable to such disasters due to its location, Palm Beach County was one of the first regions to develop such a programme, called the Post Disaster Redevelopment Plan, back in 1996.
